We rented a topless car and planned to sleep in it since all the accommodation was booked up for the night, but the it started raining and we had to attempt to drive with a tarp over the car and knew that there was no way we could sleep in the car if it was raining all night so as a last ditch effort when we stumbled upon a hostel accidentally we begged to see if there was anyway they could house us. The receptionist was from California too so he hooked us up and we got a bungalow to ourselves for only $28 AUD each. And of course the next day we got a flat tire right before we were supposed to return the car, it was a good time.
